YAKKI teaches English to children who do not have English at home. This page covers what the product is, what works today, and what is still in development.

What it is

With a tutor, a curator or in Studio, an adult sets the lesson; in Family without a curator, the child opens a lesson built for their level. YAKKI builds the exercise for the topic, level and game, and reviews a written answer: what works, what does not, and why. There are 100+ game formats. Speech is not assessed: we only give recommendations. Speech can be assessed by a live person — a curator, a tutor or a Studio teacher. To improve pronunciation, we recommend formats with a live person.

A parent agrees first — in every format. There is no guest access.

Available now

Tutors Available Now

A tutor brings their own learners, enrols each one with a parent’s consent, and assigns lessons to one learner or a group. Access is bought in blocks of five learners; the tutor buys a package of coins for their own account; learners have no wallet. Tutors learn the games in Polygon first. We do not find learners for tutors.

Family Available Now

Now in free testing: the parent registers and creates the child’s card — that step is the consent — and the child learns for free. Paid modes come with payment: A0 is a year of access: the text corpus in a limited format, plus a PDF of progress. A1 adds coins and the full format.

Today that means Israel. Children come from homes that speak Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, Amharic and other languages.

In development

Studio In Development

Our own English courses: small groups formed around the learners’ goal and level. We choose the teachers and recruit the learners. The parent pays a monthly plan, with coins included. For teachers and curators: For curators and Studio teachers.

Curator in Family (A2) In Development

A2 adds a curator to A1: the parent sets the goal, and the curator leads one child toward it — assigns lessons, homework and error review, and writes reports. No spoken lessons; coins included.

Textbook companion In Development

An add-on for A1 and A2 for a small monthly top-up in coins. Demo only so far. We are filling the textbook shelf; we do not store the textbook itself.

What we do not claim

No efficacy figures yet. The studies that would produce them are why we are looking for research partners.
