How YAKKI uses AI
YAKKI teaches English to children who do not have English at home. “AI-powered” can mean anything, so this page says exactly what the AI in YAKKI does, what it does not do, and what stands between the model and the child. It publishes no measurements.
Two jobs
It builds the exercise Available Now
When a tutor builds a lesson, the exercise for that topic, level and game is generated at that moment. There is no exercise bank to run out of: the same topic at the same level gives a new exercise every time. The chosen CEFR level holds, so a beginner is not handed a C1 text.
Curators and Studio teachers will build lessons the same way. Both dashboards are in development. In Development
It reviews a written answer Available Now
When a learner writes an open answer, the review explains what works, what does not, and why — not just a mark saying “wrong”.
Speech is not assessed: we only give recommendations. Speech can be assessed by a live person — a curator, a tutor or a Studio teacher. To improve pronunciation, we recommend formats with a live person.
What the AI does not do
No open chat with a child
There is no free-form chat. The AI works inside a game, where what goes in and what comes out are set in advance.
It does not decide what to learn
With a tutor, a curator or in Studio, an adult sets the topic, the level and the game. In Family without a curator, the child opens a lesson built for their level. Either way, the model only fills the frame.
No account without a parent
A parent agrees first. A child gets an account only after a parent or guardian has given consent.
We do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell data. What we keep is described in the privacy policy.
Nothing shown unchecked
Generated content is checked before a learner sees it. People reviewed every game format while it was being built, and we play every game through to the end on a device, making mistakes on purpose, before a child sees it. That is a check on the format, not a promise that every exercise comes out flawless.
A clear limit
Generation sometimes produces a flawed exercise. The check catches many of them, and the adult who assigned the lesson can skip the rest. We record every failure and fix the format.
AI review is a note on the language of one answer. It does not replace a tutor, a curator or a Studio teacher.
