For curators and Studio teachers In Development
YAKKI teaches English to children who do not have English at home. Studio is our own English courses: groups formed around the learners’ goal and level. A curator in Family leads one child toward the goal the parent sets. We are looking for the first curators and Studio teachers.
Who they are
Studio teacher In Development
- Leads a group. We recruit the learners and form groups by goal and level; a parent enrols each child, and every child comes with a parent’s or guardian’s consent.
- Gives live lessons. Two 30-minute lessons or one 60-minute lesson a week, in Google Meet, outside the app.
- Assigns lessons in the app. 2, 4 or 6 a week on top of the Meet lessons, depending on the family’s plan — plus homework and error review.
- Reports to the parent regularly.
Curator (Family A2) In Development
- Leads one child, one to one, toward the goal the parent sets.
- Assigns lessons, homework and error review.
- Writes reports to the parent. Everything is in writing: there are no spoken lessons.
Both. Set the child’s interface language and dyslexia mode, as agreed with the parent. Prepare for lessons in Polygon, where adults learn the games. The dashboard and Polygon for curators and Studio teachers are in development.
What we expect
We are looking for specialists, and we trust them. We provide the tools: the dashboard, assigning lessons, homework and error review, and Polygon for preparation. How you work with a child or a group is up to you. We judge by the learner’s results.
Requirements
Both roles
Required
- You are 18 or older.
- English at C1 level or above.
- Experience teaching English to children.
- Readiness to learn the YAKKI tools and work in them.
- Regular reports to the parent.
- A signed confidentiality agreement: you will have access to children’s data.
- The child’s and the family’s information is not passed on; you do not take the conversation with the child outside the dashboard or, for a Studio teacher, outside Google Meet.
- A device and a stable connection.
Preferred
- Experience with children who speak another language at home.
- Online teaching experience.
- Familiarity with dyslexia.
Studio teacher In Development
Required
- A group that we form around the children’s goals and levels.
- A live lesson in Google Meet at an agreed weekly time.
- A camera and a microphone.
Preferred
- A language spoken in your learners’ homes, besides English.
Curator (Family A2) In Development
Required
- One child, in writing, one to one. There are no spoken lessons.
- You reply to the family within two working days.
Preferred
- The family’s language, besides English. If you write in English, we translate your messages into the family’s language, and the parent receives both versions.
What you do not have to do
Find learners
We recruit them and form the groups.
Handle payment
The parent pays us; coins are included in the plan.
Buy anything
You do not bring your own learners and you do not buy access.
How to join
- Write to us — a few lines: your experience, the ages of the children, the languages spoken in your learners’ homes, and whether you see yourself as a curator, a Studio teacher or both.
- Take the C1 English exam on YAKKI — after our reply.
- Go through the test period with us — those who do get priority when we hire.
