الصفات: صيغة المقارنة — Comparative Adjectives

المقارنة بين شيئين: taller وmore beautiful وthan.

An elephant is bigger than a dog.

الفيل أكبر من الكلب.

انظروا: bigger than. مثل «أكبر من» بالعربية.

الصيغ

• tall → taller — كلمة قصيرة: نضيف er
• big → bigger · nice → nicer · happy → happier — الكتابة: في big يتكرّر الحرف الأخير؛ وبعد e نضيف r فقط؛ وساكن + y يصبح ier
• beautiful → more beautiful — الكلمة الأطول: more قبلها
• good → better · bad → worse — كلمات خاصّة
• bigger than a dog — ثمّ: than (مثل «مِن»)

خطأ شائع

خطأ: My dog is more big than your cat.

صحيح: My dog is bigger than your cat.

الكلمة القصيرة لا تحتاج إلى more: My dog is bigger than your cat.
